The new Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team car was photographed across London as part of a campaign for Adidas. The concept centred on moving the car through some of the capital’s most recognisable streets, capturing motion, scale and atmosphere with London as the backdrop.
Travelling in convoy alongside a branded Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Mercedes-AMG GT, the production unfolded as a carefully coordinated mobile shoot. From tight urban streets to expansive architectural frames, the objective was to position the car within an unmistakably London setting — balancing performance with place.
Photographing Formula One in Motion
Unlike a controlled studio environment, this production required running and cycling ahead of the convoy to capture dynamic angles in real time. The pace was relentless — balancing speed, traffic, and composition while preserving the sharp, high-performance identity of the #SilverArrows.
There were a few near misses, more than a few scrapes, and a serious amount of adrenaline — but that energy translated directly into the final imagery. Shooting automotive campaigns in live city environments demands anticipation, spatial awareness, and instinctive framing.
